Bob’s Book Blog

About this blog

I enjoy reading fiction, especially well written novels with tightly crafted stories.  So I’ve created this blog to share my opinions on books I’ve read and welcome your views– on the books and on my comments.  Also because I easily forget which books I’ve read, and more than once taken the same book out of the library, only to discover…

You can search by Author to see if I have an opinion on a specific book, or just browse. Look forward to hearing from you…..

Lots of good elements in this little book (long short-story?): a reluctant gum-shoe, a Czech femme-fatale named Eliska Sedlacek and New York City as a minor character, all well developed in an engaging narrative. Is the plot contrived? I suppose so, but I didn’t figure it out till just before he gave it away.
